Drunkorexia has become widely known among college campuses over the last several years. It’s a term that describes a specific type of risky behavior – students skip meals or exercise intensely before drinking, or deliberately purge during or afterward. The goal? “To cut down on calories consumed or to increase the buzz, and sometimes a little of both.” However, a new University of Houston study reveals that drunkorexia is not only far more common than everyone thought, but also more dangerous too.
